1941 Indian Scout

Despite having a lower profile than its main rival Harley-Davidson, American motorcycle manufacturer Indian produced equally desirable motorcycles for many decades; indeed many argue that Indian produced the superior machine. Its first model, the Single of 1904, established the company's reputation for sophisticated design and excellent quality, and Indians soon proved highly effective in competition. By the 1920s these fast and stylish bikes had attracted a strong and loyal following.
The
motorcycle offered here is one of the few remaining Indian Scouts which has been rebuilt some 10 years ago by its fastidious owner using only original parts. Having been used sparingly during his ownership and always serviced as it should, this example remains in remarkable condition and is probably the best currently offered for sale. Built only for one year (1941/1942) the Indian Scout motorbikes were mostly converted into racing bikes or for artistic purposes. To find one in original
street version is a rarity. Finished in black and white livery and complete with German paperwork, this is a true collector’s item and an opportunity not to be missed.
Das hier angebotene Motorrad ist eine der sehr seltenen Indian Scouts und wurde vor ca. 10 Jahren unter Verwendung von ausschließlich Originalteilen neu Aufgebaut. Da es nur sporadisch eingesetzt und ordentlich gewartet und gepflegt wurde befindet es sich noch immer in bemerkenswertem Zustand und dürfte wohl das beste sein, was zur Zeit angeboten ist. Dieser Typ wurde nur 1 Jahr ( 1941/1942 ) hergestellt und meistens zu Rennmaschinen oder Steilwandmotorrädern umgebaut.
In seiner ursprünglichen Strassenversion, wie hier angeboten, dürfte es kaum noch zu finden sein. Lackiert in schwarz / weiss stellt es ein absolutes Sammlerstück dar und eine seltene Gelegenheit. Das Motorrad hat deutsche Papiere.
