In September 1956, the Austin Healey 100/6 was introduced using the 6 cylinder, 2,638cc BMC engine from the new Austin Westminster which produced 102bhp at 4,600rpm and was a great deal more flexible and smooth, whilst the BN2 gearbox now featured overdrive. The 100/6 was phenomenally successful on the road and especially in the international rally world, being campaigned by many of the best known drivers of the day.
This Austin Healey has just undergone
a ground up restoration to the highest standard by leading German specialists. Its body has been completely stripped to bare metal and finished in black. On the mechanical side, the engine was rebuilt with new pistons, bearings, valves, valve guides, new clutch, water pump and oil pump. The overdrive unit was stripped and rebuilt as was the whole braking system with new brackets, brake cylinders, hoses etc. The chassis and running gear was zinc and powder coated, and new shock absorbers
fitted all round as well as new wheels and tyres. The interior is finished in red leather along with new carpets, hood and rebuilt instruments. In many ways this car is better than new and a serious concourse contender. It is supplied with German registration documents, new TÜV and historic registration. This is perhaps one of the best examples currently on offer and ready to be enjoyed during the summer months.
Dieser Austin Healey wurde von 2006 - 2008 von Grund auf von einem deutschen Fachbetrieb zu höchstem Standard restauriert. Die karrosserie wurde komplett entlackt, teilweise mit neuen Aluteilen versehen und erhielt einen komplett neuen Lackaufbau in glänzendem schwarz. Mechanisch wurde der Motor mit neuen Kolben, Lagern, Ventilen und Ventilführungen neu aufgebaut. Das Fahrzeug hat eine kompl. neue Kupplung, ebenso Wasser - und Ölpumpe. Der Overdrive ist komplett überholt.
Die gesamte Bremsanlage wie Haupt - und Radbremszylinder wurde erneuert, ebenso alle Leitungen und Bremsschläuche sowie Bremsbacken. Das Fahrwerk ist beschichtet und verzinkt, alle Buchsen ( Poly ) wurden gleichfalls erneuert. Der Wagen hat ebenso neue Räder und Reifen. Das Interieur wurde fachmännisch in rotem Leder ausgestattet, mit neuen Teppichen und Sitzen. Es wurde außerdem ein neues Verdeck angefertigt. In vieler Hinsicht ist das Fahrzeug gegenwärtig
besser als neu und im Concours Zustand. Deutsche KZ - Papiere und H-Zulassung sind vorhanden, sodass einer Nutzung für die kommenden Sommermonate nichts im Wege steht.
