1964 Morris Mini Cooper S - FIA Papers

Registration Number: EU registered                              Chassis Number: 553420

Few cars in competition have fuelled the imagination like the giant-killing Mini Cooper, the combination of diminutive size, outstanding road holding and punchy power often running rings around the opposition. Launched in March 1963, the 1,071cc Mini Cooper S was the ultimate Mini, at its heart a much higher specification engine than the plain Cooper's 997cc unit, together with slightly larger but much more efficient front disc brakes. The increased potential of the S was quickly demonstrated by Rauno Aaltonen's outright win on the 1963 Alpine Rally, followed by Paddy Hopkirk's 1st place overall on the Monte Carlo, 3rd on the Tour de France and 4th on the RAC.

This Mini Cooper has had a long and very successful racing career and won countless races, both overall and in class during its life. The engine boasts 128 horse power according to a dyno sheet and is mated to a close ratio gearbox. The car has also been road registered until 2007 and the German KFZ Brief comes with it. There are 2 rebuilt race engines, 2 racing gearboxes, 2 differential locks, 10 wheels and some more parts are to be included in this lot. The car is race-ready according to its long term owner. Finished in British Racing Green and white with black interior and fitted with alloy bonnets and doors, this car offers the complete package to an ambitious race participant and could be a winner again in the right hands.

Estimate: €30,000 - €35,000
