The Triumph TR2/3 became the best-selling sports car of its day not because it had outstanding looks, not because it had outstanding performance, or handling, or anything. It was, however, the best package. It combined everything that a sports car should be with the right balance.
Its lines were chunky yet purposeful and they had a cheekiness which later stylists have not been able to reproduce; its chassis was agricultural, but it worked; its engine was torquey and had a glorious exhaust note, and Triumph stayed ahead of the game by introducing such details as exterior handles on the cut-away doors and also disc brakes on the front wheels.
We forget too easily that there was a reason why the TR series was popular for so long - it had a history proven in competition and the factory applied the lessons it learned to the production cars.
This particular example was manufactured in 1958 and underwent a body-off restoration in 2007-2008. The car was imported from the dry climes of California so the basis of the restoration was very good. The interior is completely new and finished in black with paint work in red. The two litre engine and gearbox have also been completely overhauled. Since the restoration the car has covered 0 km and as you would expect is in perfect condition. Supplied with the car is a photographic record of the work carried out and all EU taxes have been paid. A fine example of this classic English roadster.
Dieser TR3 aus dem Jahre 1958 wurde einer umfassenden Restaurierung in den Jahren 2007 und 2008 unterzogen. Da das Fahrzeug aus dem sonnigen Kalifornien stammte, war die Basis bereits gut. Es wurden eine komplett neue Inneneinrichtung eingebaut; sowohl Motor als auch Getriebe wurden umfassend restauriert . Seit der Restaurierung wurde dieser Triumph nicht bewegt und ist folglich nahezu im Neuzustand. Eine fotografische Dokumentation begleitet das Fahrzeug, der europäische Einfuhrzoll ist bereits bezahlt.
