On its Geneva Show debut in March 1961, the Jaguar E-Type caused a sensation, with all the promise of its looks confirmed by a 150mph top speed and 0-60 and 0-100mph in 6.9 and 16.2 seconds respectively; fast indeed, and combined with superb road holding and remarkable docility. In October 1964 it was superseded by the 4.2 litre model; apart from the capacity increase from 3,781cc to 4,235cc and improved torque but the same power, it boasted a new all synchromesh gearbox, better brake servo and seats, an alternator and leather-faced rather than aluminium dashboard. Built in 1968 and exported to New York, this E-Type is described as being in good condition. It has been extensively restored and is in its third ownership in Germany where the car has resided since 1992. The carburettors have been rebuilt with the addition of a new radiator, alternator, brake system, Speedometer, hood, chrome wire wheels, fan motor, shock absorbers, exhaust, revised axles, new clutch and new trim. Finished in red with a black leather interior, it has German papers and current historic plates.

Er wurde umfangreich in Deutschland restauriert, erhielt einen 4,2 litre Tauschmotor ( E-Type ), ein Getrag 5 - Gang Getriebe, überholte Vergaser, neuen Kühler, Lichtmaschine, Bremsanlage, Tacho, Verdeck, Chromspeichenräder, Auspuff, Lüftermotor. Fahrwerk und beide Achsen wurden überholt, ebenso eine neue Kupplung installiert und die Innenausstattung revidiert. Aussenlackierung rot, Innenausstattung Leder schwarz. Das Orig. 4 Gang Getriebe wird mitgeliefert. Der Wagen hat dt. Papiere und H-Kennzeichen.
