1969 Lancia Fulvia 1.6 HF “Fanalone”

It was in 1965 that Lancia launched the Fulvia coupé. Designed in-house, it was powered by a twin cam V4 engine of 1,216cc producing 80bhp, while the 1.2 HF - for High Fidelity - followed with less trim and 88bhp. In 1966 capacity rose to 1,294cc, realising in the 1.3 HF the start of a long and illustrious rally career. For 1968 engine capacity increased again to 1,584cc: the 1968 1.6 HF, boasting 114bhp (and 118mph/0-60mph in 9.9 seconds), a five speed gearbox, wider tyres on 13" alloy wheels, fibreglass wheelarches and 7" inner headlamps, represented the ultimate development of the Fulvia - a fact proved by victory in the 1969 Mediterranean, Elba and RAC Rallies and the 84 Hour Marathon de la Route. 1969 also saw the appearance of the Fulvia Series 2. Detail changes were numerous while the 1.6 HF had revised front suspension, new flared wheelarches and 14" alloy wheels. 1974 saw the final Series 3 cars with largely cosmetic alterations before production finally ceased in 1976 - by when the Fulvia coupe had netted both the 1972 and '74 World Rally Championships.
This example is the very rare 1.6 HF “Fanalone” version, which is presented in good condition throughout and is offered with a FIVA passport.
Ende 1968 zeigte Lancia auf dem Turiner Autosalon das Coupé Lancia Fulvia 1.6 HF. Der sogenannte „540“-Motor mit seinen charakteristischen gelben Ventildeckeln hatte nun einen Hubraum von 1584 ccm. Der Zylinderwinkel des V-4-Aggregats betrug nur noch 11°20´. Mit den auf 40 mm vergrößerten Solex-Vergasern leistete es jetzt 114 PS bei 6000 U/min und einem Verdichtungsverhältnis von 10.5:1, genug für 180 km/h.
Fast gleichzeitig bot das Werk eine „Variante 1016“ genannte Sportversion an. Eine schärfere Nockenwelle, 45-mm-Solexvergaser und eine auf 11.3:1 gesteigerte Verdichtung erhöhten die Leistung auf 132 PS bei 6600 U/min und die Geschwindigkeit auf 190 km/h.
Beide Versionen besaßen jetzt ein Fünfganggetriebe und Leichtmetallfelgen und hatten ein Gewicht von 850 kg. Wegen der großen Fernscheinwerfer erhielt der Fulvia 1.6 HF den Spitznamen „Fanalone“.
Dieser seltene Lancia Fulvia 1.6 HF Fanalone aus dem Jahre 1969 ist ein sehr schönes und technisch sehr gutes Exemplar und wird mit FIVA ID Karte angeboten. Fertig für die nächste Rally.
