Finished in special order Jaguar Old English white with contrasting blue interior, this stunningly original B-Spec Dart was purchased by its current vendor in 1993 and has had only one previous owner from new.
A true testament to its caring owners, #102749 has never undergone a full restoration, however has over the years been meticulously looked after and refurbished regardless of cost. Its ‘massive’ history file, which we are told is an understatement, has been filed by year, with every year having a ‘sheath’ of invoices that are mostly from Red Triangle in Kenilworth, – the UK’s most respected Alvis specialists. It should also be noted that both the gearbox and engine have also been rebuilt, and that the car has been converted to Rack & Pinion steering, for ease of use.
The seats are finished in cream piped Jaguar blue remain in lovely condition, and have developed a ‘polished’ look that a recently restored interior cannot hope to replicate. It would be reasonable to expect that these, along with the carpets, may have been replaced at some time; if so then they are as close to original as possible. The soft top is also in great order and there is a matching full Tonneau and red hood bag but most importantly, a matching factory hard-top!
Supplied with a brand new MOT expiring on the 20th of January 2018, #102749 is described to ‘start well, pull like a train’ and ‘perform beautifully’. Whilst the car has a whole host of show medals and commendations, the car does not pretend to be a concourse example. Factory supplied in special order Jaguar Old English white, she shows no signs of having had a restoration per se, so presume this to be as she remains today, and it would be a shame to tamper with this wonderful originality. Having been in the same ownership since 1993, this presents a very rare, almost unique opportunity, to purchase a wonderful example of the more desirable B-Spec ‘Dart’s’ with one of the most impressive history files we have seen in quite some time.
