The XJ-S had been under development since 1968 and as a 2+2 fixed head coupe was intended as a replacement for the now legendary E-type. From the beginning it was only available with the V12 engine which gave excellent performance with 0-60mph being dispatched in a very respectable 6.9 seconds and a top speed of 150mph. Later in the XJ-S’s life it was also available with a six cylinder engine and a manual gearbox. E611 DPM has the preferred 5.3 V12 engine.
This is a very low mileage car with only 2 recorded owners in total. The current owner acquired the car from its original owner in 2013 with just 27,000 miles on the clock (mileage verifiable via old MOT certificates). It has now covered just under 29,000 miles. In recent years £7,000 has been spent to achieve the current condition of the vehicle which is described as being mostly excellent. This fine example looks extremely refined finished in tungsten Grey with tan leather interior and burr walnut dashboard and centre console. In the current market the Jaguar XJ-S represents exceptional value for money. With such low mileage and the classic V12 engine, this example is the one to buy.
