The Masters Racing Series

Going into 2007, it is clear that The Masters Racing Series now plays a pre-eminent role in historic racing events in UK and Europe.

Started in 2004, when our F 1 series, Grand Prix Masters, ran its first season, we developed into 2005, by adding the Le Mans type Prototypes, as our second series, World Sportscar Masters.

For 2006, Masters took on the management of the long-established and successful Gentleman Drivers series for GT & Sportscars, and set up Sports Racing Masters, for pre-1966 sports racers. The 2006/7 ‘off-season’ has seen further expansion for Masters, with the acquisition of Top Hat Racing. This combined group now covers ten types of historic racing, under The Masters Series banner. New for 2007 is Masters Top Hat Saloons for pre-1966 Appendix K FIA touring cars, which will join the ‘European Tour’ of Masters Series.

The Masters Racing Series is owned and operated by experienced sports business managers, with detailed knowledge of the racing ‘in period’ and a strong enthusiasm for providing our owners, drivers and fans with style and speed in a sophisticated environment. It’s all about the glory of the cars, the sport of the drivers - and the most spectacular entertainment for the fans.

What The Masters Racing Series offers

The races which make up The Masters Racing Series are:

  • Grand Prix Masters – F 1 cars from 1966-77
  • World Sportscars Masters – Le Mans cars 1960’s/70’s
  • GT & Sports Endurance Masters – GT& Sports cars from the 1950’s/60’s
  • Sports Racing Masters – Sports cars up to 1965
  • Masters Top Hat Touring Cars – pre-66 Appendix K saloons
  • PLUS the other five exciting and specific Top Hat series which are mostly UK based: for pre 60’s saloons; for ‘best of British’ sports cars; for 1970’s Touring cars; and for ‘Cloth Cap’ sports cars and the Sebring salute series.

These great racing series provide circuits, sponsors and enthusiasts with a complete package of historic racing, all delivered to the track, organised in the paddocks and on the grids, and run under the control and ownership of The Masters Racing Series Ltd – it can be a complete festival package; or Masters works with leading circuits and festival organisers.
