The combination of the advent of cheap cars and the collapse of the British motorcycle industry brought production of the Red Panther to an end. They are simple and fairly robust machines which inspire enormous enthusiasm in their owners. These factors, combined with relatively low cost, have resulted in a fair number of Panthers being still in use.
The example on offer here is described as being in excellent condition throughout, and benefits from having been fully rebuilt and restored, with extensive re-chroming work carried out.
The bike comes complete with a multitude of spares, including the original rubber seat, and a history file which includes the original log book and a copy of the original road test carried out in 1938. It was also featured in the April 2008 edition of Classic Motorcycle magazine, a copy of which is included with the sale.
