The original BSA Bantam D1 125cc model was actually based on the German DKW RT 125 design that was given to BSA by the British Government as part War reparations in 1946. Production started in 1948 and spanned several revisions and modifications over its 23 year production, it has been been calculated that as many as half a million examples were produced.
This D7 175cc example dated from 1961 was restored by the owner following his purchase sometime in the early 1990’s. Once finished the bike remained more or less unused in his collection ever since. It is reported to be in working condition and is a fine excellent condition example. Currently not road registered it is supplied with workshop manuals, spares catalogues and a copy of Roy Bacons book on BSA Twin restorations. Offered here at a fraction of the restoration cost.
