The Mondial name first appeared on a motorcycle in 1948 when the Boselli brothers introduced an advanced DOHC 125cc racer. Few marques achieved so fine a competition record in so short a time as the Italian maker enjoyed great success in World Championship Grand Prix racing from 1949-51. Following a relatively lean spell Mondial then had a gloriously successful comeback in 1957, taking both the 125cc and 250cc World Championship titles.
From the late 1960s and into the ‘70s Mondial’s road range was primarily composed of small capacity lightweights powered by proprietary 2-stroke engines, like this lovely little Mondial 50 Sport.
This rare sporting tiddler comes to sale in very good, well preserved condition with a lovely patina.
