The Series II moved the E-Type along, bringing further refinements and changes in detail styling. The most noticeable change was the larger ‘mouth’ at the front, the open headlights without glass covers, full wrap-around bumpers, and larger front and rear lamps, now situated below the bumpers. New fully reclining seats were fitted as standard. Under the skin many changes made the Series II the most developed and reliable E-Type in standard form. Cooling was improved, aided by the enlarged mouth, larger radiator and twin electric cooling fans. Braking was substantially uprated, with larger callipers all round. The gearbox also received a lower first gear ratio more suited to modern traffic conditions.
Described by the vendor as being in excellent condition in all respects, this matching numbers Series II roadster looks lovely in signal red with beige leather and contrasting chrome wire wheels.
Since being repatriated to the UK, this E-type has benefitted from a detailed engine rebuild, which has only very recently been completed. Showing just 60,000 miles on the odometer, and offered with a current UK MoT and UK V5, this super car is said to drive very well with a smooth gear change. This wonderful 1960s classic is certainly not to be missed.
