Yamaha’s highly successful YZ125 motocrosser was first produced in 1974. The first YZ was fitted with dual rear shocks, and his was updated to a monoshock design for the following year and it has has continued in production with a new model being produced every year to date. The YZ125 model has been ridden to five AMA National Motocross Championships as well as multiple AMA Regional Supercross Championships.
In ’74 spec it’s powered by an air-cooled 23hp 123cc 2-stroke single fed by a 28mm Mikuni carb through reed valve induction with CDI ignition and a 5-speed close-ratio gearbox.
The example for sale here is in very good condition and it is to be sold with a Coys bill of sale. A lovely example of what is (along with the YZ250) almost certainly the longest running and most successful motocross model of all time.
