In 1978 Porsche introduced their latest version of the widely acclaimed 911. Named the ‘911SC’, it featured a 3.0 litre six cylinder engine with Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection and a 5-speed 915 transmission. Originally power output was 180bhp, later increased to188bhp and finally in 1981, 204bhp.
This right-hand drive 1982 Porsche 911 SC Targa is presented in its original, and rather unusual colour of Metallic Burgundy with a complementary tan interior. Reportedly only a handful of cars were painted in this colour.
This Targa is in excellent condition throughout, including bodywork and mechanicals. The interior is described as excellent, and even the Fuchs alloys unmarked. Supplied with a large history file containing a number of bills and receipts, most recent expenditure includes a gearbox rebuild, a clutch replacement, new heat exchangers, replacement cross-over pipe and pre-silencer, making this example ready for continental use.
With the Launch of the retro look 991 Targa now very much in vogue, it would seem that the SC model offers the classic looks and feel of earlier models and a level of refinement and usability that were lacking in earlier Targas.
