The 512 BBi replaced the 512 BB’s four Weber carburettors with a Bosh K-Jetronic fuel-injection system, hence the “i” in 512 BBi. This upgrade proved the 512 BBi to be much more user-friendly, making the car not only easier to start but also easier to maintain. For many clients, the addition of the fuel injection was a welcome change, and the 512 BBi is often considered to be the most liveable of Ferrari’s Berlinetta Boxer models.
The example on offer here was invoiced to Maranello Concessionaires Ltd on the 28th October 1983 for delivery to UK supplying dealer Maranello Sales Ltd on the 31st January 1984, the first owner was Mr E of West Sussex who took delivery on the 6th February 1984 registering the car, 446 EJB.
Later purchased from Maranello Sales Ltd by the seconder owner with 11,790 miles. A sales invoice from Ferrari agents Graypaul dated the 30th January 1997 shows the car being sold to the late Mr. P C of London with 20,070 miles and just four months later the car was then sold and registered on the 26th April 1997 to a Dr P B of London with 20,254 miles, again by Graypaul.
Sold to the fourth and penultimate owner on the 16th October 1999 with 23,101 miles recorded the 512 was sold through Talacrest to the last owner Mr A H of The Midlands, on the 2nd September 2005 at 24,375miles.
During the current vendors ownership, the 512 has been meticulously looked after by marque specialists Rardley Motors in the South of England where very recently a cambelt and annual service have been carried out. Presented in its original and rare colour combination of metallic silver over a blue leather hide the BBi is complete with a factory original service book and handbook wallet and is showing a mere C.30,300 miles on the odometer.
One of just 42 produced this exceptional BBi is offered at a very sensible price and would be the Jewel of any serious collection.
