Group 4 homologation rules, which required 400 road cars to be built before F.I.A approval for international racing was granted, led to the creation of ‘Project 930’ – the legendary Porsche 911 Turbo. Production began in April 1975: the Turbo married a KKK turbocharger to the 3.0 litre RSR engine, which in road trim delivered 260bhp and a top speed of 155mph.
Custom modified by RAUGH-Welt BEGRIFF (RWB), a world renowned and increasingly successful Porsche tuner from Japan, this truly unique Porsche has cost a small fortune to build and is truly a one-off piece.
The cars bold styling is not its only remarkable and auspicious trait. As with a lot of high-end Porsches in Japan, this particular example was sent to the Porsche specialists PROMODET for further tuning of its mechanics. It was here that the car was married to a powerful 3.8 litre 993 RSR engine producing a terrifying 350bhp. In order to cater for this power output additional modification were made, including uprating the brakes to a 993 Turbo 4 pot brake system and fitting a H & R suspension with Koyama Racing shock absorbers.
Included in the cars history file is a detailed step by step break-down of all of the work and modifications that the car has received showing the original donor car right the way through until the how it is presented today.
Having benefitted from a recent refurbish, this remarkable feat of engineering and design is now finished in excellent condition throughout. Rarely do such rebuilds evoke such desire as this. Its presentation is meticulous with no expense spared, evolving into a brilliant road/track car armed with awesome looks and a truly spine tingling soundtrack that can only appreciate in value and desirability.
