This Mercedes-Benz is the third generation of the distinguished SL line known as the R107. A two-door monocoque body shell with independent suspension all round, coil springs and anti-roll bar at the front and semi-trailing arms, coil springs and anti-roll bar at the rear. The power assisted steering was Daimler-Benz’s own re-circulating ball system. Over its seventeen year reign, the R107 range was powered by no less than eight different engines – two sizes of straight-six unit and six versions of V8’s.
Presented in Nautic blue with sumptuous grey leather interior, this wonderful 300 SL has been fastidiously maintained throughout its life. The car comes with both soft and hard tops which are described to be in very good condition. The list of work carried out is far too extensive to list but it is clear that it has been a labour of love and any new owner would be impressed by the level of detail. A comprehensive history file and current MOT are provided with the car which deserves to be seen to be appreciated.
