The Bentley Turbo R is a high-performance car which was produced from 1985 to 1999. The “R” stood for “Roadholding”, to set it apart from its predecessor. It initially inherited the turbocharged engine from the Mulsanne Turbo and also sported a re-tuned suspension and wider tyres on alloy wheels, a first for a Bentley. From the 1987 model year, the Turbo R’s V8 engine was upgraded with fuel injection for added torque. Motor Trend called the Turbo R, “the first Bentley in decades deserving of the famous name”.
Finished in a wonderful shade of Metallic Wildberry with a magnolia leather interior, burgundy carpets, steering wheel centre and dashboard top roll, this Bentley has simply an immense specification. Features include reclining rear seats twin rear TV screens, two Motorola telephones, a DVD player, picnic tables, footrests, wood cappings embossed with Bentley Wings, a Badge Bar, rear quarter badges and a Bentley battery conditioner.
With the current owner for over 8 years, during which the Bentley has been very well cared for, the service history is extensive and includes c. 20 stamps for works completed. In addition the Bentley has enjoyed a full cosmetic refresh (supported by a substantial file), the interior is beautifully preserved, the wheels unmarked and the correct Avon Turbospeed tyres are nearly new. A fine example of Bentley’s market-leading executive express.
